The Bendie ‘Impressive 1800’ made its world premiere at the HISWA float boat show at Ijmuiden in September 2008. The new Bendie ‘Impressive’ model line is available in lengths varying from 15 to 22 meters. In conjunction with the designer, Han van Vossen, Bendie Shipyards has brought to the market a luxury, robust and impressive yacht having the appearance of a grand super yacht.
The Impressive 1800 is a steel round bilge motor yacht with an overall length of 18.60 meters, a beam of 5.20 meters and a draft of 1.40 meters.
The yacht has a flared bow, high gunwale and covered aft deck and gangways. The stern is rounded and has a hydraulically operated stairway in the middle which gives access to the (twin) engine room located aft.
The interior is entirely custom built and the customer also has every opportunity to specify the layout. The large living area, the salon annex and wheelhouse is entered via the opening doors on the spacious aft deck. The salon has a large electrically operated sliding roof. The steering position is equipped with a complete set of Simrad navigation instruments. The interior is modern and smooth, and finished in walnut combined with matt stainless steel. The galley and dinette, and guest cabin with a double bed is located forward, as is a shower and toilet. The galley is built with a long stay aboard in mind having a 4-hob cooker, combination microwave, dishwasher, large sink and refrigerator with freezing compartment. An additional refrigerator and wine cooler is in the salon. A nice detail in the galley is the upright windows which let in a lot of natural light.
The owner’s cabin with a large double bed, shower and toilet and a guest cabin with bunk beds are situated under the level of the salon area.
The Impressive 1800 is fitted with two entirely electronically operated Vetus Deutz DT66 engines. The engine room is very spacious and easily accessible through a hatch in the aft deck, through a door in the owner’s cabin and a door under the aft hydraulic stairway. The latter is very handy, for instance, for storing bicycles. Space in the engine room is also given over to a 14KvA generator and the hydraulic installation for operating the bow and stern thrusters, the anchor windlass, the radar mast, the stern stairway and the stabilisers. The hydraulic stabilisers ensure that the yacht stays stable during heavy weather and at sea. The engine room is very well isolated, which adds to the tranquil atmosphere when underway.
The yacht is also fitted with the Pro-Dock system. With this system you can operate the bow and stern thrusters proportionally and both engines using just a single joystick. Tying up in a lock or mooring in a harbour is therefore a piece of cake. The yacht is built to CE design category A.
In building the Impressive series, the boatyard has brought a very high quality yacht with excellent sailing properties to the market. A yacht with all the luxury and comfort for a longer stay on board.
